When Bebe Cool and Ziza Bafana set their concert dates on the same date, there was too much anticipation by the fans on whose show would sell out. About a week or two to the d-day, Bebe Cool always announced how tables are being bought; this proved that his show would undoubtedly sell out.
The day came to pass last Friday but it was it wasn’t the best of days as Ziza Bafana show on the other side never happened. Ziza Bafana’s show which was slated to take place at Kati Kati grounds was cancelled by Kampala Capital City Authority under failure to agree on some payments by both parties.
By press time (8pm), people had already started flocking the venue. A few minutes after, KCCA officials thronged the venue and ordered the sounds off. The stage was also brought down and the early angry revelers left.
According to one of the people on Bafana’s management, the promoter of the event whose names they didn’t mention told the artiste that they had cleared KCCA and NEMA but it was a lie. They only found out during the course of the show when KCCA came in to interrupt.
Meanwhile, it is also said that the freedom city proprietor Mr John Ssebalamu somehow came to the rescue of Ziza Bafana. He provided the artiste with a free venue at Freedom city on August 30th.
The cancellation of the maiden show didn’t stop the other shows from happening; the singer will tonight be performing at Collin Hotel in Mukono and tomorrow he will be at Lido beach in Entebbe.
