Zambia’s sole 24,000 barrel-per-day oil refinery has resumed production after repairs to parts of the plant which were damaged when it was fed highly acidic crude, its managing director said on Monday.

“We are running, we resumed production on Saturday night when repairs were completed,” Indeni refinery managing director Maybin Noole told Reuters.

Indeni refinery was shut on Tuesday and an investigation was launched to establish which firms imported the unsuitable oil.
