Why Rosemary Nankabirwa died even after the funds were raised

NTV news reader Rosemary Nankabirwa passed on last evening. She lost a battle with adrenal-cortical cancer; she had been fighting it for a while. Her family members only brought out the news to the public when it was too late, the message requesting people to fundraise money to facilitate her treatment so she can get well.

All along, no one knew her condition, immediately after there was a fundraising event at Kampala Serena Hotel, fans, celebrities and well-wishers came together in an event were cars were to be washed for a sum of shs50,000. By the time the fundraising was being done (Saturday), she was already bedridden at AghaKhan Hospital in Nairbi Kenya.

The campaign was to raise shs60M but because many people responded to it, they were able to correct 105M which was more than the money that was needed. Bad news emerged the following day that the news reader had passed on. If the family had announced this a while ago, you never know there would be enough time for treating her and she would live. Its so sad she passed on. Her body will be arriving today and burial will be on Wednesday at her ancestral home in Masaka Kinoni.
