Uganda’s Hip Hop culture is growing because people in the Industry work together and support each other, this is according to a Rabbi- Darkside a Hip-Hop Dj and Emcee from the United states, Rabbi Darkside is here as part of an American cultural exchange group called Next level a collection of three Artists who do different segments of what makes hip-hop, they include Suzi Analogue a producer and founder of Never Normal Record, Mad Lines a Hip-hop Emcee and a Poet, and Frankie Perez a BB Boy and Break-dancer.

The group is in Uganda to engage Ugandan youth on the different t aspects of Hip-hop and have been holding classes with Ugandan youth and teaching them about Hip Hop in general.

Speaking during a dialogue at the US Mission in Kampala, the Next Level group also commended the decision by Uganda’s rappers and emcees to keep Hip-Hop for what it is, the community, calling ‘’Lugaflow Mind blowing’’

The American producer Suzi Analogue wondered why there is a division between those who rap in vernacular and those who rap in English ‘’ what is the cultural connotation she asked? She however pointed out that the fact that Ugandan producers are influenced by Timbaland and DJ Premiere a duo she called the best era in Music, it goes to show that the best is yet to come in Uganda.

However Frankie Perez a B-Boy dancer who was also on hand to showcase some of his skills, commended the Break-dance Project Uganda for Pushing the dance side of Hip-Hop in Uganda ‘’B-Boy is still young but the level at which it is, the dancers are hungry, and pretty soon they will be competing at the world championships and winning, last year I was shocked to see two Ugandans at the championships, this year, little did I know I would be in Uganda a year later meeting these guys’’ He said.
