The left-footed ball player has been training with Amakhosi for the past three weeks, and as reported Matovu impressed Steve Komphela and his technical team.

“He’s very quick off the mark. Besides his speed, Sula has good technical ability. Let’s see how he blends with the other top dogs here at Kaizer Chiefs.”Chiefs head tactician Steve Komphela Said.

The 22-year-old  Maluda as he is commonly called in Uganda was most recently on the books of Swedish side BK Häcken, where he had a frustrating spell, and he’s now looking to resurrect his career in the Absa Premiership.

“We would like to confirm the signing of Ugandan winger Sula Matovu on a three year deal,” Chiefs confirmed on Wednesday

However Matovu said “Chiefs is a big team in Africa with big players. The Club has a good administration, it’s professionally run and it’s all about team work, which I like,”

He becomes the second Ugandan player to sign for the Soweto giants in the last two seasons, his compatriot being Ivan Bukenya who is also a Glamour Boy

However Matovu won’t find Chiefs easy as he will battle with the likes of George Lebese and Siphiwe Tshabalala for a place in Komphela’s starting line-up next season.
