Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni once again Comes to the rescue of a National Team he thought was a football club

The President of the Republic of Uganda, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has offered financial support for the Uganda Cranes away trip to Comoros in the AFCON 2017 qualifier.

massa_onyangoThe approval by the President followed a request from FUFA to the government for the support towards the team at a time the federation was seeking financial assistance of close to $ 210,000.

According to the FUFA official website, the president called the FUFA president, Eng.Moses Magogo on Tuesday and delivered a patriotic message of encouragement to the players, the technical and support staff of the Cranes team.

“I am 100 % behind you. Go and represent our country with passion. I wish you the best. I offer financial assistance as per your earlier request” Museveni was quoted

President Museveni is an ardent supporter of sports in the country particularly football and has been supportive time over and again.

“We are grateful for the offer from the President of Uganda. This support is timely as we have been struggling with finances to Comoros since the air tickets to the island nation are very expensive” Noted a jovial FUFA President Magogo.
