Ugandan Tourism queen to compete in Miss Heritage World in South Africa

Jane Murungi Miss Tourism Kigezi 2014 was chosen by the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, to represent Uganda in Miss Heritage World from October 30th to November 14th. Miss Heritage world which will take place on November 13th in Johannesburg will have beauty queens all over the world competition for one throne.

Miss Heritage is an international beauty pageant that looks for a woman from all over the world; it looks for one who can who can represent the culture of her country

The title of Miss Heritage world is currently with Ms Odessa Mae Tadaya from the Phillipines who was crowned on December 20, 2014 in Johannesburg,  South Africa.  Aisha Naguddi who was representing Uganda last year emerged 5th.

According to the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities Hon Maria Mutagamba, three years ago, the Ministry created a Project known as Miss Tourism Uganda which gave birth to other pageants like Miss Heritage and Miss Tourism Independence which is aimed at promoting cultural diversity and Tourism. “We have decided to choose Jane Murungi to South Africa to market our culture and tourism to the outside world” Hon Mutagamba said.

“As Miss Heritage, I always tell the people in other countries that if Uganda is the Pearl of Africa then the people in Uganda are the pearls “Jane Murungi said, she added that she is proud to come from Kigezi not only because there are Mountain Gorillas but also because of the Batwa Pygmy culture, since Uganda is known for Gorillas, I will make sure I spread not only the Gorilla language but also the people language.

To vote for Jane Murungi, one has to go to the Miss Heritage World site and then select Uganda.
