Ugandan body-builder, Ivan Byekwaso has won gold at the INBA Natural Universe Bodybuilding Championships in Austin, Texas.
The 32-year-old faced stiff competition from 36 top world body-builders to become the open overall winner early on Sunday morning.
Throughout his career, Byekwaso has been a great ambassador for Uganda as he won a silver medal at the World Natural Body Building and Fitness Championships in the City of Nitra, Slovakia Republic in June 2014
Saturday night, at the INBA/PNBA World Cup, in San Diego, Califonia, saw body builder, Mr Uganda Ivan Byekwaso, realizing his dream.

He emerged the best in his 175cm Short Men category before dwarfing his taller opponents to scoop the overall gold medal. On his Facebook pages, “Oh Lord thanks for lifting me up…ladies and gentlemen again, this victory is for every Ugandan around the world, thanks for your prayers,” Byekwaso passionately wrote.
Pictures of him kissing the trophy; shaking hands with INBA President Denny Kakos and more, tell the story. Before proving his international worth, Byekwaso, a five-time Mr Uganda and Mr Kampala winner, and former manager Kamal Sabuni passed begging baskets for facilitation. It is a smoother ride now, with Pemba Sports Africa, a new sports promotion company, footing the travel bills and training in California under Coach Lorenzo Gaspar.
