Ugandan couple sues Gov’t,hospital over stolen Baby

A couple in Uganda has sued the country’s national referral hospital and the country’s attorney general over their stolen baby.The couple accuses Mulago hospital staff of swapping their baby and giving them a dead Baby girl, when they had infact given birth to a baby boy.

According to the Daily Monitor News paper, the couple through their lawyers, Kavuma Kabenge & Co Advocates, the couple wants court to declare that Dr Kapuru and Mulago hospital, violated their constitutional right to family, to bring up and care for their child contrary to Article 31(4) & (5) of the Constitution.

This lawsuit on allegations of swapping new born children by staff of Mulago,is a continuation of what has now become a habit. Currently another couple Michael Mubangizi and Jennifer Musimenta is in the high court over the same issue. they accuse Mulago hospital staff of stealing one of their twin children.

The couple claims to have given birth to twins on March 12, 2012, but one of them mysteriously disappeared for which they are holding the hospital
