For the past days, the Ugandan media has been speculating that Wasswa was set for a move to the 2014/15 League Champions after a successful one year spell with SC Villa that has seen him lift the club to a second position finish in the Azam Uganda Premier League and winning the 2015 Uganda Cup.

This followed Wasswa’s disclosure on his facebook page indicating he was leaving the 16 time league champions, without details of his destination that left everyone pondering his next move.

“It has been a wonderful journey last season with my blue army but we all have a point to let go. It’s been a wonderful journey, with great supporters, awesome players and good management. You made me a better person this season but am sad to announce that am leaving and, am wishing my Villa family a wonderful and prosperous new season’’ read Wasswa’s Facebook post statement.

However SC Villa’s supremo Eng. Ben Misagga has since come out to assert that Hassan Wasswa is still Villa’s player left with one year on his contract and as such he cannot leave without the consent of the club but the player insists the club bleached his contract which leaves him club less.

In a statement SC Vipers posted on their website viperssc.com to clarify on the matter; Vipers distancing itself from any possible pursuit of the nomadic player.

“Hassan is a player of extraordinary qualities, immense experience and a leader who definitely adds value to any club. However, with all due respect, we have neither approached him nor are we interested in his signing him at least as of now” read a post on viperssc.com.

“As a club, our image has been tainted and portrayed as selfish on this matter, its therefore befitting that we clear the air as regards Hassan Wasswa and Vipers SC’’. The statement clarified.

Vipers has added six new players Shafiq Bakaki, John Semazzi, Brian Nkuubi, Duncan Seninde, Erisa Sekisambu and Denis Ddumba to their squad so far to challenge locally and at the continent.
