Toyota’s Urban Cruiser: Unveiling Uganda’s New Affordable SUV With Cutting-Edge Features

The good on-road refinement of the Urban Cruiser belies its budget-crossover market positioning.

In an exciting development for the Ugandan automotive market, CFAO Motors Uganda Limited has introduced the all-new Toyota Urban Cruiser, a standout addition to Toyota’s SUV lineup. This stylish and technologically advanced vehicle promises affordability and excellence in one package, effectively competing with the Suzuki Grand Vitara while setting new standards for customer comfort and performance.

Futsum Yosef, the Technical Training Manager at CFAO Motors Uganda, highlighted the Urban Cruiser’s remarkable attributes, emphasizing its cutting-edge technology and a focus on customer comfort, durability, and reliability. With a powerful yet fuel-efficient engine that offers quick acceleration and advanced features like Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), the Urban Cruiser meets the demands of modern drivers. Its spacious interior, boasting 328 liters of luggage space and a versatile 60/40 rear split, enhances its practicality.

CFAO Motors says that the Urban Cruiser’s load-bay capacity has been improved by 25 litres to 353 litres.

Isaac Tegule, Marketing Manager at CFAO Motors Uganda, emphasized how the Urban Cruiser embodies Toyota’s legacy of quality and performance. It’s not just a means of transportation; it represents Toyota’s legacy and innovation, tailored to meet the discerning needs and aspirations of Ugandan customers.

Inside the Urban Cruiser, meticulous attention to detail shines through in the fit-and-finish and tech offerings. The improved steering wheel, multifunction buttons, and premium interior create an enhanced driving experience.

The vehicle offers a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, keyless entry with push-button start/stop, auto AC, LED headlights and tail lights, cruise control, and a comprehensive safety package with 5 airbags. However, the absence of wireless charging is noted, with only one USB-C port and a 12V port available.

The vehicle comes in a range of up to 8 colors, complemented by LED daytime running lights that not only enhance its aesthetics but also contribute to road safety. The 9-inch infotainment system features seamless integration of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ensuring a connected and enjoyable driving experience. The inclusion of a reverse camera adds an extra layer of convenience for drivers.

The Urban Cruiser is competitively priced at UGX 120 million, and to further entice customers, CFAO Motors Uganda is offering a 2-year/50,000km free service package, eliminating routine maintenance costs. The vehicle also comes with a reassuring 3-year/100,000 km warranty, showcasing Toyota’s unwavering commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

A 7-inch touchscreen is standard, as is wireless Apple Caplay and Android Auto.

With its combination of affordability, advanced features, and Toyota’s trusted legacy, the Urban Cruiser is set to revolutionize the Ugandan SUV market and cater to the desires of modern drivers. Don’t miss your chance to experience this exceptional vehicle, designed to elevate your driving journey to new heights.
