The NRM treasure Ms Rose Namayanja was involved in an accident at Kigogwa, along Bombo Road this afternoon. She was rushed to Nakasero Hospital after the car she was travelling in got involved in a head to head collision with a blue truck.
According to Government spokesperson, Ofwono Opondo, Namayanja was heading to Luweero to attend a ground breaking function for the construction of Bidabuja Health Centre III at Timona village. Reports indicate the ceremony has now been cancelled after the news of Namayanja’s accident was received by organizers.
The head of media and public relations at the NRM secretariat, Rogers Mulindwa says Namayanja was travelling in her official vehicle, registration number RM 27032 from Kampala to Nakaseke. She sustained injuries along with three other occupants of the car. These include her mother Catherine Namirembe, the driver Isma Sebunya and her security guard, Richard Kyazze.
