Mirinda Comedy tour resumes

Ever since Mirinda launched a comedy platform at Laftaz a few years ago, it has been pushing Ugandan comedy industry to where it is now; it has sponsored many comedy shows in and around Kampala.

The latest is that the brand has also resumed a comedy tour which will cover 12 districts, this will take place from July 18th to September 25th, 2015 with Mirinda injecting in 300M to run the project

The tour will begin in Jinja and Mbarara this weekend and the comedians lined up will include  Salvado, Kapale, Arthur Da Vaccine, Mad Rat, Amooti, Alex Muhangi, Dolibondo, Chico, Snake and Zolo, Ronnie Macvex, who will battle it out for the crown of the king of Mirinda Comedy.

According to Mr. Timothy Luzinda, Mirinda Brand Manager, the tour will also create an opportunity for new talent in selected districts to perform on stage and stand a chance to be recruited into the entertainment industry.

“This year, we are coming on bigger and better with the Mirinda Comedy Tour. We have planned to storm 12 districts across the four regions with the creme of comedy in the country. This weekend, we shall be at The Heat in Mbarara and at the same time we’ll be at Laftaz comedy lounge in Jinja”, Luzinda said.

“There will also be an opportunity for those who believe they have got the talent to showcase what they can do in front of hundreds of comedy fans. This could be their turning point and entry into the industry as well.”

During the tour, comedians will be expected to storm schools, supermarkets, bars and other nightspots. Fans will be treated to a number of activities such as a lucky dip where fans can win Mirinda Freebies, music battles among other entertaining activities.

Entrance fee to the show in Jinja will go for shs5, 000 ordinary and shs10,000 VIP while in Mbrarara entrance will be shs15,000 and will be accompanied with an ice cold Mirinda at the entrance.
