Mathew Nabwiso is one of Uganda’s biggest movie directors and producers. His works speak for him and because of his reputation, his services were needed to direct a new movie by Reach a Hand titled When You Become Me, a movie that advocates for a more inclusive society.

But even with his expertise, Nabwiso found challenges directing this movie. The movie is powered by Light For World, Sautiplus Media Hub, Reach A Hand Uganda, and Stanbic Bank Uganda.

“I had not done a movie like this. It was a challenge as I spent many sleepless nights. Directing people with disabilities, with no acting history, was hard for me but I had to take on the task. It is movies such as these that put you to the test,” he said during a press conference earlier.

The former Hostel actor, however, gave credit to the cast, saying, unlike able-bodied people, people living with disabilities get their roles and scripts faster. “I urge everyone to come and watch this movie because it is going to educate people on what people with disabilities can do.” The film with the premiere on March 15.
