Mathew Nabwiso Advocates For Disability Inclusion Film
Mathew Nabwiso is one of Uganda’s biggest movie directors and producers. His works speak for him and because of his reputation, his services were needed to direct a new movie by Reach a Hand titled When You Become Me, a movie that advocates for a more inclusive society.
But even with his expertise, Nabwiso found challenges directing this movie. The movie is powered by Light For World, Sautiplus Media Hub, Reach A Hand Uganda, and Stanbic Bank Uganda.
“I had not done a movie like this. It was a challenge as I spent many sleepless nights. Directing people with disabilities, with no acting history, was hard for me but I had to take on the task. It is movies such as these that put you to the test,” he said during a press conference earlier.
The former Hostel actor, however, gave credit to the cast, saying, unlike able-bodied people, people living with disabilities get their roles and scripts faster. “I urge everyone to come and watch this movie because it is going to educate people on what people with disabilities can do.” The film with the premiere on March 15.

Big Eye Celebrates Kenzo’s Grammys Loss
Musician Mayanja Ibrahim alias Big Eye is chest thumping following Big Talent boss Eddy Kenzo Grammys Award snub.
The Stamina hitmaker lost out Best Global Music Performance category award to South African trio Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini and Nomcebo Zikode. The trio’s song Bayethe was voted ahead of Uganda’s Eddy Kenzo, USA’s Matt B, and Nigeria’s Burna Boy.
With the entire country pouring out their love and consolation to Kenzo, social media users were surprised by Big Eye’s Facebook post on Monday afternoon.
Big Eye accuses Kenzo of not opening up opportunities for other local artistes to get in touch with international creatives which he termed selfish. He went on to say the Sitya Loss star doesnt deserve to use the national motto “FOR GOD AND MY COUNTRY”. “The inside of his hearts is dirty and he should use “FOR GOD AND MYSELF””- Big Eye added.
Eddy Kenzo is the first Ugandan to be nominated at the Grammy awards. On top of the 33 year old’s Grammy nomination, Musuza has a host of national and international accolades that other artistes only dream of. These include a BET Award in 2015, a Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award in 2018 and numerous All Africa Music Awards.
