When the President pledged 400M to all artistes in Uganda, even those who had started singing the previous day did everything possible to be recognized as Artiste inorder not to miss a share. A meeting was called yesterday by the Federation of Performing Artistes in Uganda on the best way to use the money.
During the meeting, the only renowned artiste who was at the meeting was Mayor to be Ragga Dee. The rest were mostly upcoming artistes and maybe those who take music seriously (read Joe Tabula, Mariam Ndagire and Sophie Gombya).
While at the meeting, Andrwe Benon Kibuuka the President of the Federation of Performing artistes said that the money will be used to construct headquarters for performing artistes in Uganda.
Ragga Dee said that the Tubonga Nawe dinner was his idea president was his idea not Bebe Cool’s. “I was the one who wrote to the President two weeks back before the dinner. My intention was to talk on behalf of the industry and bring forward the problems we face but those who represented us at the dinner talked as individuals.”
