Ethiopian Airlines Wins Vienna International Airport’s Rising Star Award

Ethiopian Airlines, the largest airline in Africa, is pleased to announce that it has won the Rising Star Award by Vienna International Airport’s summer event for registering significant traffic growth for the year 2014. The award was presented as a token of their appreciation for the outstanding performance at an event held in Haus Des Meeres Restaurant on June 16, 2015.

SolomonVienna International Airport conducts the annual summer event every June and selects winners based on unique parameters for each year where traffic growth was the point in focus for 2014. Vienna Airport was able to report a good passenger growth over the course of last year, primarily due to the airlines at Vienna Airport.

Ethiopian started its fourth direct weekly operation to Vienna on the 2nd of June 2014 in a code-share partnership with Austrian Airlines. The agreement has enabled Ethiopian to provide seamless and convenient connectivity options for travelers between Africa and cities in Central and Eastern Europe. Likewise, the agreement has provided seamless and smooth connectivity to Austrian Airlines customers to our ever-growing network in Africa.

Ethiopian has upgraded its services to Vienna since March 2015 to the state-of-the-art and luxury filled Boeing 787 Dreamliners – the most technologically-advanced commercial aircraft offering unparalleled on-board comfort to passengers with their high ceilings, the biggest windows in the sky, greatly reduced noise, unique lighting systems and higher levels of humidity.
