Electoral Commission Ready For Hoima City LCV By-Election

Mr Paul Bukenya, the EC spokesperson.

The Electoral Commission has confirmed its readiness for tomorrow’s highly anticipated LCV by-election in Hoima City, stating that all necessary preparations have been completed.

Polling materials have already been successfully delivered to the district headquarters, ensuring a smooth and organized voting process.

This follows the conclusion of a 12-day campaign for the district chairperson seat, where supporters of various political parties tirelessly traversed the district to garner support for their respective candidates.

The by-election became necessary following the unfortunate passing of Kadiri Kirungi on March 17th in a tragic road accident at Mataagi village in Kiboga district, along the Kampala-Hoima highway.

The race for the vacant seat features five candidates, each vying for the position of district chairperson. These candidates include Patrick Musinguzi from the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), Moses Aguuda from the National Unity Platform (NUP), and Uthman Mugisha representing the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM). Additionally, independent candidates Vincent Muhumuza and Lenos Mugume are also contesting for the seat.
