Bobi Wine, the President of the National Unity Platform (NUP) party, known as Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert, is set to lead a spirited march to Busia today. According to his program, he will host a lively rally and inaugurate the opening of his party offices in the vibrant district.
Before his upcoming event in Busia, Bobi Wine kicked off his busy schedule with a program at Busoga One Radio. Here, he passionately shared his party’s manifesto while extending his heartfelt appreciation to his unwavering supporters who rallied behind him during the crucial 2021 polls.

Notably, Hon. Kyagulanyi achieved a historic feat by unseating Mr. Museveni, who had long dominated Busoga and the Eastern districts in previous general elections.
The poor performance of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in Busoga during the 2021 polls can be attributed to a host of factors, primarily the alarming rates of youth unemployment and widespread poverty in the region. Young people saw Bobi Wine as a beacon of hope and liberation, akin to the Biblical Moses leading his people to the promised land.
Today, Bobi Wine is gearing up for a significant visit to the border district of Busia. However, his tour unfolds amidst heightened security concerns due to prevailing bomb threats. Brig. Gen. Felix Kulayigye, the spokesperson for the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), issued a stern warning to all, emphasizing that personal safety should be paramount. Kulayigye urged the opposition to take the bomb threats seriously, reminding everyone that no one is immune to the threat of terror attacks.
