In a thrilling follow-up to Elijah Kitaka’s successful EP listening party, Swangz Avenue has stunned the Ugandan music scene yet again with a major announcement.
Azawi is all set to light up the stage at the Kampala Serena Hotel on the 20th of October, just eleven days after the release of her highly anticipated album, ‘Sankofa’.
Despite her relatively brief time in the industry, Azawi has already amassed an impressive repertoire of over 26 songs, and her upcoming album is rapidly becoming a hot topic in the music scene.
News of her upcoming concert has ignited a flurry of discussions among netizens online. Some are confident that Azawi will deliver an electrifying performance, citing her consistent track record of sensational live shows.

However, others point out that she has been relatively quiet musically in recent months, suggesting that the early success of her new album could determine the fate of the concert.
Azawi herself promises that this event will be more than just a performance; it will be an immersive experience for her fans. She plans to treat the audience to some of the tracks from the album, which will have been released by then.
In addition to her new material, Azawi will also showcase songs from her African Music album and not to be overlooked, her Lo-Fit EP.
The word ‘Sankofa’ holds deep significance, originating from the Akan language in Ghana. It translates to “Go back and Fetch it” and is often symbolized by a bird with its mouth facing backward, signifying the importance of learning from the past.
