When Aisha Nabukeera, a name that was on every ones lips 10 year’s ago when she was mistreated by her step mother by burning her to death, everyone thought she would be hopeless for the rest of her life.

Business man Frank Gashumba then gave her a place she could call home, his home in Buziga, she has been staying there for 10 years now. From excelling in A’level with flying colors, she has also come on board to contest for Miss Uganda; the ambitious girl is on the urge to wear the crown that the reigning Miss Uganda Leah Kalanguka is currently wearing.

Perhaps it was the reason why media was restricted yesterday at club Guvnor during the Central region auditions, they didn’t want them to break the news of the youngster joining the pageant.
“I personally believe everyone is gifted but most Ugandans never open their package. I also believe that the tragedy of life is not death but what we let die inside of us while we live,” Gashumba added.
Gashumba discovered Nabukeera at Masaka Chief Magistrate’s court in 2006 with her body covered with burns and wounds as she sought justice against her stepmother.
